The 2017 Fraternity Communications Association annual conference will again offer members an opportunity for education, networking, recognition and fun! The three-day event is at the Le Méridien Charlotte. 


The meeting begins with pre-conference workshops Wednesday afternoon and officially kicks off with the opening business meeting at 4 p.m. followed by the welcome to Charlotte networking reception hosted by Publishers Press and Pi Kappa Phi that evening. Thursday’s activities include educational programming throughout the day, and an exciting off-site event. Additional professional development opportunities abound on Friday, and the conference concludes with celebration of the work of our peers at the annual Awards Banquet. Please make your travel plans accordingly to arrive on Wednesday, May 3 and depart Saturday, May 6.

Because of serious plumbing issues at the Le Méridien, we have moved our sleeping rooms to the adjoining property, the Sheraton Charlotte Hotel, 555 South McDowell St, Charlotte, NC 282204. Each reservation booked has been confirmed to be transitioned to the same bed type in the Sheraton Charlotte Hotel and includes a $20 per night reduction in room rate. Meeting space is not affected as the Sheraton is the sister property sharing meeting space with the Le Méridien. FCA received significant and helpful concessions, along with guarantees that this will not affect the conference otherwise. Both the museum and the restaurant are within walking distance of the Le Méridien Charlotte.


FCA Accolades is the Association's philanthropy program that allows FCA members to recognize one another and support a nonprofit in the local community that hosts the annual conference.

The cost is $3 for one or $5 for two stickers for conference attendees to proudly wear on their name tag. Be sure to tell your fellow FCA members and colleagues how much you appreciate them and support a great cause in Charlotte.

This year, the accolades program is benefiting Communities In Schools Charlotte-Mecklenburg (CIS). CIS takes a holistic approach to increasing graduation rates in the school district by addressing the physical, emotional and academic needs of children and their families through a comprehensive range of services delivered to Kindergarten through Grade 12 students. CIS is the only local agency that places full time school-based coordinators in the schools they serve to work with students and their parents/legal guardians, teachers, social workers and school administrators to enhance student success.
